As a brand, SOG is known for their close ties to the tactical and military communities. Typically (and especially in recent years), that results in thoroughly modern knife and tool releases suitable for hard usage. But that doesn’t mean the company strays away from the occasional heritage-inspired release, as evidenced by this limited-edition take on SOG’s Terminus XR tactical folding knife.
As far as size, shape, and overall format, this version of the Terminus XR is right in line with its brethren — including a drop-tip, TiNi coated, cryo-treated S35VN steel blade and the signature ambidextrous XR locking mechanism. Where it differs, however, is (obviously) in its handle. In this version, the knife receives a pair of walnut wood handle scales mated to carbon fiber liners, which combine to make this the lightest version of the Terminus XR ever released. The perfect mid-size EDC knife, especially for those that appreciate both heritage materials and modern sensibilities, this old-meets-new folder can be yours for $150.
