While it remains to be seen when (and if) Alpha Motors will finally unveil a working prototype of its retro-styled EVs, we have to commend the California-based startup for its ambition. From old-school coupes to rally-ready CUVs to compact pickups, Alpha has been churning out designs at a break-neck pace.
The latest addition to the lineup is called ‘Superwolf,’ and, as its name implies, it’s largely based around Alpha Motors’ electric Wolf truck. However, where the previous model was a tiny two-door with a scant 3,000-pound towing capacity, the new vehicle is essentially a crew cab that’s been made more capable in every way. Thus, in addition to the extra doors and seats, the Superwolf also gains a larger bed, wider wheel arches, and a massive roof rack for stowing off-road essentials. What’s more, it can be specced with a host of optional all-terrain add-ons, such as a retractable tonneau cover, a set of tube doors, and a bed extension for hauling extra gear. And while Alfa has kept the dual-motor, 4WD powertrain the same, the truck’s extra size means that it should be able to pull as much as 6,724lbs behind it. Reserve one for yourself starting at $48,000.
